What is the average life expectancy of a living being? Not every living being lives for a specified period. Some may die due to aging, some may die due to unusual events or accidents. Research has often concluded that larger animals live longer than the smaller ones. If we talk about small insects, their life span is literally lower than the tortoise. – Size of the dogs- In the canine case, larger dogs live for shorter periods than smaller ones

Large-breed dogs are more prone to cancer. The lifespan of large-breed dogs is 9 to 12 years. Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers, and Bernese Mountain Dogs fall under this category.

Giant Dogs have the shortest average lifespan of 8 to 10 years. But they are more prone to bone cancers and neurologic diseases. Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, and Saint Bernards belong to this category.
